How to apply

You will apply for the evacuation payment based on your age and household situation when the evacuation order was issued:

  • persons who are 18 and older are eligible to apply;
  • families may apply on one application: applicant, spouse and dependent children living with them;
  • a trustee may apply online for a dependent adult 18 and older;
  • only one parent, legal guardian, or trustee can apply for a dependent(s).
Applying to receive an evacuation payment by email transfer (Interac e-Transfer)

You need an Alberta.ca Account, personal email, and Alberta driver’s licence or identification card to:

  • apply online for the evacuation payment; and
  • verify your Alberta.ca Account and have the payment sent to your bank account by Interac e-Transfer.
If you cannot receive an evacuation payment by email transfer (Interac e-Transfer)

You need an Alberta.ca Account and personal email to:

  • apply online for the evacuation payment; and
  • receive direction on next steps to contact Alberta Supports for further information.

Evacuees may apply online using an Alberta.ca Account. Albertans who have recently verified their Alberta.ca Account do not need to wait for their activation code and can apply before receiving their code. Albertans applying using an unverified Alberta.ca Account will receive an email with instructions on how to receive their payment. Individuals who are unable to apply online can call the Alberta Supports Contact Centre at 1-877-644-9992 for support.
